About Kati Britton

Kati Britton is a registered Play Therapist with the ‘Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association’ (APPTA), and is a clinically registered counsellor with the ‘Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia’ (PACFA). Kati Britton is also listed on the The Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, established by PACFA.  Kati is also an international member of the ‘Association for Play Therapy’ in the United States.

Since 2009 whilst completing her Bachelor Degree in Social Science specialising in counselling, Kati Britton worked as a counsellor in an addiction treatment centre on the Northern Beaches of Sydney dealing with addictions and mental health conditions. Whilst seeing the trauma being presented by adults at the hospital, Kati decided she needed to start working with children to break this cycle of harm before it began in the adolescent phase and beyond.

Kati says “Since completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Art & Play Applications in Therapy, I have spent my time working as a play therapist in private practice ‘Youth Psychology’ in Manly, and ‘The Be Centre’ in Warriewood where I have seen many children and their families on a weekly basis.

“My 7 year old son was suffering angry & emotional outbursts due to being bullied at school. He was always reactive and defensive & was unable to cope with these huge feelings. Since spending time with Kati he has been able to process & begin to understand these big feelings he was experiencing. He is now much brighter, lighter and optimistic about the world around him. We are very grateful to see our happy boy returning to us & are thrilled he had the emotional strength to trust Kati and enjoy the play therapy process with great results. As parents we are also learning to be more patient, supportive and grow as a family. Thank you!”.
